Hey guys, long time since I posted in this section. Anyway, its been a while since Ive wrenched on an FC, and just wanted some verification. In the pics below, can you tell me if it is a S4 or S5 engine. IIRC, S5s didnt have an EGR, and this one does, so its a S4. Also looks to be a 2-bolt thermostat housing, S5s were 3?, and the auxillary port actuators have the plunger rods coming down from the top, whereas S5s had them pulling from the bottom, is this all correct? Also looks to be a mechanical MOP, but cant tell for sure. Thanks

 

I'm not an expert, but everything on it looks like my S4

 

If that block has not been touched since it came from the factory... its an S4

EGR on center plate, rear motor lift hook, fpr on secondary fuel rail, upper intake support brackets, hose coming out the back of waterpump

 

Yes that is a S4

 

I've yet to see an s5 motor with that radiator cap on the water pump. Every s4 I've seen has it, but no s5s.

 

God how many miles on that thing?
