Hi i have a 86 non turbo and ive been driving it for months and today i went to the store and came outside and went to start my car and i had no power to anything, like EVERYTHING.

Sounds like a dead battery, even if the battery was replaced doesn't rule out the fact it could be dead. Are you sure your alternator was charging it?

Check terminals, check battery, check grounds.

if the batterys dead ill test the altenator and charge the battery.
i just found this thread after i posted this one:

Sounds like what happened with mine [it'd been sitting though]... Check the ground on the driver's strut tower: way down at the base of the tower facing the engine there should be a little bolt that looks like it's just holding up the wiring harness that runs along the frame rail down there. Try taking that out, cleaning the bolt threads, cleaning both sides of the "mounting tab", and using dielectric grease.

Hey guys im haveing the same problem again, it was corroded batterie terminals last time, so i cleaned the off again, but the terminals are pretty hargard so i think i eed to replace them? and the batterie wires.
i have power but only have 10 volts (according to the OEM voltmeter) when i put the key in the on position, so i have to bump start it and then everything is good, but when i shut it off i only get 10 volts so it wont start

It's better to rely on the voltage reading at the battery (should be about 12.5 volts) rather than the gauge. If the car were running you can test the quality of the grounds by placing one lead of the voltmeter to the housing/casing of the alternator and the other lead to the negative battery post (not terminal clamp) and the reading should be less than .2 volts. If higher, then the grounds need to be cleaned or replaced. Again, with the motor running take one lead of the voltmeter and touch it to the B+ terminal of the alternator (where the single black wire bolts to the alternator) and the other lead on the positive battery post ( not battery clamp) and again the reading should be less than .2 volts. If higher, then the connection from the alternator to the battery is poor and needs attention. Placing the red lead of the meter on the B+ alternator terminal and the black meter lead of the voltmeter on the negative battery post should read more than 14 volts with the motor running (accesories off). Below that level and the alternator is not creating enough voltage, and output of less than 12.5 volts means the battery will not be able to charge properly. From your description, it sounds like you know what needs to be done.
