Selling my LSD and to save on shipping cost, trying to get the gearbox(pumpking?) out. I was told that all I needed to do was take the bolts out and it should open.

Took bolts out and not even close to being open. Help please.

 

did you remove the stub shafts?

 

Let me start off saying, I am a computer programmer, not a mechanic.

Since I am not sure what this is, I would say no. Is the stub shaft the part that goes to each tire.

Any tips/suggestions appreciated.

 

Have you downloaded the factory service manual from www.fc3s.org ?

 

Will check it out. BTW, could some explain the FC3s things. I know this means 2nd gen, but I assume there is something else behind it.

I have only owned my rx7 for two weeks so still learning.

 

The stub shafts are the ones that come out the sides of it leading to the tires.

FC is the chasis code most are FC3 and an S for coupe but the Convertibles are FC3 and a C instead of an S.

 

FC3S is the code trend for Rx-7's

1st Gen Sa22 and FB
2nd Gen FC
3rd Gen FD
Rx-8 FE
