Hello everyone,
I am urgently in need of help.
A few days ago while I was driving, my check engine light comes on but doesn't stay on.
So I decided to check it out and pop the hood open. When I pull the hood release, I hear something in front but my hood won't open at all, it feels like the hook did not even disengage.

How can I get my hood open?

 

well is it stock? or have you removed any of the "junk" from around the bumper area.

and yes, i see all your mods. i was just wondering if you have removed any of the plastic stuff in the front. and if you unlatch it some how without the lever, pretty sure you car alarm will go off if you have one no?

The black plastic surround is off, and i can disarm the alarm no problem
the only thing is that there is no gap (the safety catch), so i tried raising the headlights and lifting from the side... no luck

i can try pushing down a bit on the hood while someone pulled, but with the aluminum hood, i am afraid i will dent it (heard horror stories)

i don't know how i can access the hood latch assembly from under the car, but i'll try crawling under and see tomorrow
