hood won't open

After putting my hood back on after the engine swap, it was a little harder to open it, but nothing major. Now all of a sudden after I run to the store to get some vacuum hose, it won't flippen open!! Anyone got a plan of attack? The hood latches and unlatches with the hood popper, but when I lift the lever, it won't open.

worst case scenario, get a contorsionist to unbolt the hood latch by reaching up through the front grill

LOL

or just cut a square hole out where the latch sits, and just lift it up..

no seriously tho

get someone to push up and down on the hood above the latch while some pulls the lever.. that should work...

Put the light up and pull on the side of the hood next to the lights

You said the hood pops up. So now you have a gap there. Get a long screwdriver and a flashlight and shove the lever in the direction to unhook the latch while pulling up on the hood,.

Once open again, lubricate the mechanism and or tighten the fastener that the mechanism pivots on. Use some wheel bearing grease. More or less study what happens when you lift up on the lever to unlach the hood and you'll see why it did not open. You also might have to adjust the height of the mechanism.

Alrighty, it's up. Thanks for the idea HAILERS. My longest screwdriver wasn't long enough so I used a tensioner bolt to push the latch over. Looks like my lever doesn't like to pivot any more.
