Help!!!help!!!!!

ok heres the shitty news i was ready to start up my car after doing an engin swap and i hooked the battery the opposit way well my car didn't like it so the main fuse went i replaced the fuse and i hooked it up the proper way and I get a buzzing sound a guy told me i was the battery so I just hooked it up using the jumpers it didn't work still buzzed how ever if i hook it up the first way like when I blew the fuse then all my lights come on but when I turn the key the starter is not catching like it's spinning but not catching if any body anybody at all has any ideas what this might be can u please either reply or e-mail me at drake696@hotmail.com with subject line as HELP HELP thank u

If you hooked up your battery backwards, you have essentially fried every digital circut that was connected until the fuse blew, if it blew at all. Thats the wonderful thing about old Volkswagens, you can hook up the battery either way, since everything was analog. So when you get the battery hooked up correctly, be prepared for some SERIOUS troubleshooting.

ok i got it all checked out and twhat seemed to have happened is I just fried the relay from battery and the right pop up light but i got it going.
