Help with fuel pump

I have purchased a new fuel pump and strainer for my FC and now i need to swap the old with the new, i have a general idea what to do but if anyone has done it before and can give me a walkthrough type thing it would be much obliged.

Pull the old, replace with the new... it really is almost that simple.

Did you ever jumper the fuel check connector and turn the ignition to on to check the original fuel pump?

You should also download a copy of the FSM.

1. Peel back or remove cargo area carpeting and driver's side side paneling.
2. Unplug fuel pump wiring harness 6-pin connector on driver's side strut tower.
3. With the access panel now exposed, remove screws and remove access panel to expose fuel tank/pump assembly.
4. Spray penetrating oil on the small phillips head fasteners which bolt the pump assembly to the tank.
5. Remove fasteners and uncouple fuel lines from pump assembly.
6. Carefully remove pump assembly, you will need to maneuver the assembly so as not to get hung up on the level float and pump mount.
7. Unplug, uncouple, and remove the old pump.
8. Replace with new pump and reassemble in reverse order.

^I would add to step 2 if your current fuel pump works, have the car running when you unplug the fuel pump harness from the strut tower so that it sucks the fuel lines dry, preventing from making such a big mess.

i did jumper it, it did not work, also i used a check light to check the power to the pump just to be sure, and it had power, the old pump just did not work

be carefull when u take the 8 little screws that holds the assembly in place. I have to soak them in wd 40 for couple days. then what I did was take a screw driver and use an hammer to get the screw driver deep in the screw so u get a good grip. then I used an impact gun and it came right out lol.

I sprayed those 8 little screws with PB Blaster and they came right on out, but the fuel pump was the problem, and i now have a running FC, now time for some fun
