help with fuel hoses

I am having difficulties installing the Earl's Super Stock hoses into the stock hose ends. they are both -6 AN sizes but i cant seem to push them in by hand , it would go half way and just wouldnt move anymore. Anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do it efficiently ? pls i need desperate help here

and btw how do u remove the fan and fan shroud. do u remove the fan first or the shroud first? and for the fan u remove it by the nutz behind the fan?

thank you so much.

i dunno about the hoses... ive never used AN sized stuff... nut as for the fan and shroud... take the fan off first, remove the nuts off of the wate pump (4) with a 10mm wrench. then take off the upper rad hose, and then the shroud, by removing the bolts on the radiator.

Weird...
Stock fuel lines are 5/16", which is technically a -5AN size.
-6AN is larger, so it should slip on rather easily?

Try some oil or lubricant on the hose to help slip it on...

Use a screwdriver wedged inbetween the bolts holding the the fan on so it doesn't spin while you break the nuts, they're easy to unthread by hand once you break them loose. Take the fan off... it makes taking the shroud of easier.

You lay the shank of the screwdriver b/t two of the nuts on the fan, then hold it while removing one of the two remaining nuts. The tip of the screwdriver has nadda to do with removing the nuts.

I knew there'd be confusion if I had to explain it when I came up with how to do it myself (After stripping a nut)

So I took a picture.

No ****, that one is no more.

It's a sacrifice to the 13B Pulley Nut gods.

Now there's a craftsman 1/2 that I use in its place... of course I didn't try that one on the pulley nut, but I'm sure it could take it.
