Help finding a car
I kind of don't know where to go for this one, I have tried everything except for this and I have one last option which is to hire a private detective. My father, who recently passed away, once owned (the first car he ever made payments on when he was 19) was a 1989 RX7 GTU. To help locate the car I will give all known information I have on the car that I can and have.
The car was purchased in early 1989 at John Finger Mazda in Greenville, South Carolina by my grandfather, Jimmy N. Como who was the first owner of the car. He gave it to my father (the reason for buying it) as his first car to have as truly his own. The car was a Brilliant Black car with a Grey/Black interior. The car had and retained the stock 5 Spoke/Dual Spoke wheels. The car had a sunroof and A/C with an Automatic. He kept the car stock and serviced well under warranty, and it only ever had some minor radio upgrades done (he blew his speakers listening to Phil Collins, go figure). He sold the car around 1994. This is all I know. No VIN or License Plate that we can find (but we are looking as hard as possible). We have 1 photo of it somewhere in a box but can't find it at the moment. Can anyone chime in?

Without the VIN you're going to have a hard time. If you are the executor of his will/estate you can likely go to the DMV of the state it was last registered and get his registration history. Or if you know where is was insured thru, you may be able to contact them as well. That should get you the VIN.
Once you have the VIN you can try doing a carfax or similar search and you may get lucky and find the last place/time it was registered. IF you can get that, you can reach out to the DMV of that state and see if you can get contact information for the person that registered it.
Good luck with the hunt!
