^^lol.
I have solid motor mounts and the vibration is very easily noticeable, expect lots of rattles and squeaks to start once you install them. Anything in your ashtray, door panels, etc. will rattle when you engage the clutch in lower RPMs, like under 3 grand. Its annoying to me when I'm not playing any music (rare). The vibration/rattling goes away after like 4 grand and then its a lot of fun. I've driven my friend's car that has good stock mounts and I think the solids make it a lot more fun to drive. Running it through the gears isn't as boring...lol. If you're the type of person to redline your car every chance you get then go for it, otherwise the competitions are a good choice.

by pollyurothane i mean the the cylindrical ones that dont even look like engine mounts, mazda trix hase them i belive they refer to them a as race mounts. there is a set just like them on ebay, they refer to them as semi solid
I have some Poly mounts. The PO of them (didn't install my specific set, but had a pair on his car), said that they weren't bad. Somewhere between solid and stock.
So take that with a grain of salt?

I recently put on the Mazda Competition mounts, and really like them. I think as long as you stick with rubber mounts (which the competition units are), you probably won't increase the amount of vibration very much. By the way, Racing Beat sells them for $32, which is a lot less than the price at Mazdatrix.

They're even cheaper if you are in the Mazda race support program.

Sorry to bring back the dead... but is there any possibility of a solid engine mount causing any problems in the future? I want reliability above all for my project which is a drift machine. A damn fine one at that.
I saw ones made of Duralumin by "Super Now" at RHDjapan.com
Or should I go with a polyurathane one? (Need recommendations for that) I just want to replace the stock mounts and forget about them. I dont mind losing my fillings. I actually prefer to FEEL my engine.
Thanks guys!
