hi, I just had terrible time with my 7 today. I just stopped by my friend's house for about 30 minutes, and came out to start the car. first, I heard this loud squeezed noice from underhood, and then nothing. no smoke or anything. so, I kept going. for not very far, the engine seems like dying. the idle went down to 200rpm, then, finally cut off with all warning lights on. I quickly restarted the car, kept my foot on gas petal to keep the car alive, and then managed to get home finally, after a few more times cut off. all warning lights were still on, except the check engine light, when I was driving. after pulled up on the driveway, I noticed coolant came out from the overflow tank, but the strange thing is the water them gauge was still nomal??? NOT HOT???

the motor was fresh rebuilt, still in the breakin period. and also, I just drove over hour on the other day, without any problem. no noise, no coolant blow out, no lights on at all. WHY???? the car will start up right away without any smoke.

sorry for the long story. but I really need some help here.

 

Almost sounds like an electrical problem, maybe the alternator?
Better check compression, though, even a fresh rebuild CAN fail.

 

the lights always come on when the car dies.

 

Did a hose pop loose?
