Help compressor surge

OK I had a crappy turbo xs bov the cheapest one and got compressor surge, now I have the apexi twin chamber I just got today, It still barely blows off its like a quick pitiful psst but my car still flutter like compressor surge like it always has.. How would i adjust my apex bov for the best flow for 10psi, really soft or hard, any input would be great.

Try not to do this.
If you're going to do this, put the BOV on the *straight* section and no off the branch.

yeah, i have the apex i and have had no problems, i would check the vacume sorce, unless its comming off of the UIM it prolly sucks!! i had that problem with the hook up for my boost gauge from the previous owner, they thought the turbo was shot cause the gauge was only reading 4 psi!! so i got a t-fitting and spliced it in with the BOV which was off the manni and BAM im pushig 8!! lol

so as u can see vac. sorce can make a world of difference

is there a better place for vac other than where the stock bypass valve was hooked up, also, it doesnt seem to be making much of a venting noise for 10psi, I hope I am even running 10psi, it is what i set my boost controller to and what my gauge reads. Is VDO pretty accurate?

VDO is pretty good!! Porsche and Volkswagon use them for factory gauges

ummm, i am not sure where the stock bypass valve when, mine cale with a BOV already lol but i would think that would be a good plave for it caues its gotta vent the by pass. i would try adjustign the sccrew thats on the top of the BOV bring the screw outwards to relieve pressure on the spring, that will make it vent easyer

No I hooked my BOV where it was supposed to be, I got the apexi kit that came with a new IC pipe adapter, I hooked the vac line nipple up to where the stock bpv was.

You may have the spring pressure way to tight.....

Did you have any Packer washers in the Turbo XS??? When I put 4 in it... i got a bit of compressor surge if i didn't leave off the gas the whole way... I took them out and have no problems....

the spring should only be tight enough to keep the BOV from leaking at idle
