help clicking sound under UIM/no start

Hello I have 88 tii with problem. I took off the upper manifold for TB mod, an saw the injector under so i took them off also for cleaning. I put everything back on, an when i turn key to ON position, theres clicking sound around UIM very fast like 5 time a second. I think oy might be injector, not sure what it could be. The sound go away when I take off the upper 30A fuse in fuse box (fuel comp i think it calld). Also I cant start up my car w/o squirting a little oil or ATF inside the spark plug hole. compression for front: 75-75-74, rear: 75-60-60. any help great appreciate thx!

Seems like your injector is firing nonstop (strange?) Also, anything under 80psi is pretty much a dead engine. Unless you took those readings wrong it's about time to get a rebuild.

To me that clicking sounds like a solenoid. You probably hooked a line up to a part of the vacuum rack that went to the solenoids. Maybe a fuel line?

so what ur guys saying its dead? neways i think the solenoid that i connected wrong was the one under the brackets where you hold the throttle cable. I took out my EGR also and i think i connected it to the EGR. if that thing is fuckd up can i jus put a block plate over it? also will this explain why my motor wont stay running unless i put WOT? TIA

First of all, I was messing around w/ my wiring trying to get my reverse lights to work properly (long story). My primary injectors were firing non stop if the key was in the ON position and the car was in a gear. Fixed what I was doing, threw a new fuse in and they stopped. I believe it was a 7.5A fuse.

Second, was the engine warm when you did that comp test? Were you holding the throttle wide open?

Cold engine + closed tb = low compression.

the click sound was the BAC, i'm making a block plate asap. would that be the cause of my start problem? I checked the injector, there fine

I cant imagine the BAC cold cause a no start, unless its failed miserably...Does the car start to fire then die? Or does it just crank?

Bad/non functioning AFM? Check the error codes!

There could be a lot of reasons. The BAC is supposed to click, and if it worked before you took it off the car, it should still work.

Check all connections around the AFM. Check for vacuum leaks. Make sure your injectors are connected properly (didn't mix up primary vs. secondary connections, did you?). Check all wiring. Check all hoses. Make sure the TPS is connected (easy to forget).

Do a proper compression test. If you still get those numbers, the engine is close to dead.

I am betting it is a vacuum leak or AFM problem.

my car starts up real good, then dies at around 1500-2000 rpm. that means if I let my foot off the gas, then the rpms drop to 1500, then i press the gas again to get the rpms up it jus dies. I have to be WOT for it to contine running could this be a side effect of TB mod? also the set of 3 vacuum hoses in the back. I got the middle hose on. the other 2 I jus put hoses with a screw in them (blocked). the previous owner removed egr and acv.
