Help choosing for a TurboII build up....
Hows everyone doing??
Thanx for taking the time first off to take a look at my questions here.
I have a 1987 TurboII that has been sitting dead in my garage for quite sometime as I pieced together everything needed to make a 350+hp weekend toy.
It's taken quite awhile but I'm almost there.
Most recently, actually a little while ago. I bought a Walbro 255Lph fuel pump and two Bosch 1600cc injectors and am still looking for some primaries. I already have a Mazdaspeed turbo exhaust manifold(yes a real mazdaspeed, not some Ebay crap with a tag on it) and a Dual HKS exhaust and down pipe and a Turbo that I might not use after all. I am trying to decide between a microtech LT8 and a Haltech system. I could get either one from a buddy, they are used so the price is something I can live with. I still need help with picking some other things out and wanted to know what some of you all are using out there.
First I want to use some aftermarket fuel rails only because they are fatter and much nicer looking then stock.....Is it worth it?? And who makes some nice and reasonably priced ones??
Also What abotu a fuel pressure regulator???
There are so many brands to chose from and even more on Ebay, what works well for a Turbo RX7???
Does this mean its time to eliminate the FPR(fuel pulsation damper)?????
I also want to get rid of the stock mechanical fan and use an Electric unit.....I see several brands for sale on Ebay an in the Summit catalog but what are some of you actually using???
And finally, What about a boost controller??
I have heard horror stories of manual boost controllers not bleeding off fast enough and causing boost spikes on the first test drive that would scare anyone but I have also heard bad of EBC's.....
I have heard of electronic units malfunctioning and loosing boost, which I would rather deal with if I had a choice.
All in all I would like a electronic boost controller because of its "coolness" factor......What do you think????
Anyone know what a Scramble boost controller is???
Okay thats about it for now.......I know its a lot to answer but I want to hear different opinions and see what the masses lean towards.
Any and all help would be great and appreciated.
Thanx all.

Fuel rails don't give you any additional performace, especially at your power level you're looking at.
It sounds like you're buying parts for the sake of buying them.

Boost creep is due to too much exhaust for too small a wastegate.

Boost controllers can only raise boost and not lower them.
If the boost controller suddenly fails, it just go back to it's unmolested boost level.
Why do you are if the EBC fails???
Are you racing for money???

It's a temporary raise of boost level for a few seconds (typically) for must-win or passing situations (on the track).
EBC is set to 15psi.
SBC is set to 20psi.
Hit the SBC button and the EBC allows you to run 20psi of boost for about 5 seconds; after the 5 seconds are up, it reverts back down to it's normal 15psi setting.

HeEeHe......I am buying a lot of parts just for the "cool" factor. I want an eye catching under hood appearance on a budget. I didn't know the stock rails could support so much power. That's great to know. Maybe I will just polish up the stock ones lightly. Thanx for clearing up the function of the boost controller for me and the whole reason behind boost spike. That makes sense. So if a car is having problems with boost spikes on a shift could it be that the wastegate needs to be larger or a "racegate"??????
I know what FPR means but my question about it was regarding elminating the stock unit and doiong the "banko bolt" mod. Would it be okay to buy a new factory FPR or just swap it out for a Banjo bolt and use an aftermarket FPR?????
Thanx for all the help and info.

you don't need bigger primary injectors, those 1600's will be plenty of fuel. You might need a different secondairy rail due to the 1600 injectors but I have seen writeups on how to modify the 1600's to make them fit, but have never done it personally.
