Help with Check Engine codes

I pulled my codes after doing some work to try and get rid of an idle problem.

I got the following codes:

18 - Narrow Range TPS (but my tps is plugged in?)
25 - Solenoid (Removed with rack)
30 - Same
31 - Same
32 - Same
33 - Same
42 - Same
73 - Rear Secondary Injector (also plugged in)

So I guess my question is, why is my narrow range tps code going off, but not my wide range code? Could this just have to do with adjusting it? Also, what could be a problem with my injector, seeing as its not the connection?

Thanks Guys

The throttle sensor has two plungers on it. One reads narrow throttle openings, and the other one kicks in to read wide throttle openings. So, it's like two sensors in one package. The narrow range seems to give the most problems.

You may just need to adjust it. If it still keeps retuning errors and won't hold adjustment, you need to find a new (or used that still works) sensor.

Ok. Thats what I thought.

Can anyone confirm that who is not just going on a hunch?

Also, what could cause an injector to throw a code besides not being plugged in?

Try adjusting the throttle sensor and go from there. You need to adjust it and see if it holds adjustment before you know if it's bad or not.

As for the injector, the FSM advises to check that there is continuity of the injector. After that check for continuity between injector and ECU 3Z terminal.

Hope that helps...

Ok thanks, I'll try adjusting it when I get home today. I suppose I should check it via the resitance method and not with the checker lights right?

LOL, there's so many ways to check a throttle sensor. The LED method, resistance, and volts. I set it to one volt and then plug in the lights to see if the ECU says it's right. I've never used resistance, but others have proved that method to work just as well, possibly better. So, it's really up to you.

I'm surprised I've been the only one to reply.

Ya, I was expecting one of the electrical gurus like Mark or HAILERS to respond with some input. Oh well, you are doing just fine

Anyhoo, I ohmed out the TPS. I got it all in spec and it stopped throwing codes. Only problem is now it doesn't pass the LED test. Is this causing problems? Cause it seems to me that the test connector/LED should be what the ECU is reading, and therefore I should set it to spec with that. Any ideas there?

Oh, and on the injector. I had no continuity so I sprayed it with contact cleaner and it works fine again. I guess it got gummed up.

Thanks for the help Jerry.

If it's not throwing codes, it's fine. I just switched out my bad throttle sensor for a good used one. The difference is night and day. No more bucking, stuttering, or associated problems - and most important, no codes.
