Why don't you try the west regional section or stop being a bitch and do it yourself.

What part of it are you having trouble with? I've done countless diff swaps on my own in some of the worse conditions imaginable. So long as you've got a decent selection of tools handy it shouldn't be so bad. Don't mind TIIR, think Aunt Flow might have showed up and ruined his day or something.

lol alright, and what i'm having trouble with is getting it lined up. like if the two bolts towords the driveshaft are in the slots, i can't line up the main mounts, and vice versa. and even trying to put it in all at once, still not able to.

any suggestions?

Is the front of your subframe all bolted in place or did you drop the front (right near the front of each rear tire)? If you've dropped that ideally what you want to do is start the two front bolts of the diff, set the diff on a jack (if possible), then try to raise the subframe up a bit, then get under there and try to muscle the diff up into place. If you have another set of hands it helps to have them try to move the subframe up. Eventually you'll find a point where it'll kind of level out and allow you to get the rear mounts on.

It won't really come out, but it should come down (as in the front will drop down, quite a good bit usually). If I recall there's kind of a cap/cover that goes over it, and then the bolt itself for the subframe. Should be 4 total to be able to drop the front down. Once you can get the front down it all becomes super easy, you get good access to the front diff mount bolts which will help you line things up a bit.

ooh yeah, it dropped down, quite a bit, but i'm still having trouble positioning it in. i just tried again, and still haing the same lining up problem that i was having before, like, i tried it all in one shot, i actually! got the mounts on, but then the two bolts for the bushing wouldn't go in the slots

At that point (when you get it that far), you'll probably either need to lift the subframe up or have the diff on a jack so that you can just jack it up into place and push the subframe up afterwards. It's a real pain in the *** if you have to do it yourself to try to manage the balancing act, but if you can put the front mount on there relatively loosely (but making sure it doesn't come out of the bracket) and keep the subframe down maybe only about 2" or so, generally you can force the rear of it up there far enough to get the bolts in.

hmm sounds good. so you're saying put the two bolts loosely in the bracket first, then jack up the diff? or the other way around would be to get the mounts on, then jack up the diff all the way, then with another jack, jack up the subframe?

sorry for any typing errors, soo tired -_-

Kind of in this order, set the nose (front diff mount) into the bracket on the subframe, put the two bolts on relatively loosely so the diff has some flexability in it (up/down), but tight enough that the metal shim(or whatever you want to call it) won't be able to come free very easily. With the diff sitting on a jack get it up roughly into place and then try to muscle it onto the rear mounts. If you don't get it up quite high enough have someone else jack the jack up so that the diff will sit on the jack while still being on the rear mounts (even if you can't quite get the bolt in). At this point you should have the front still attatched (but loose), and the rear lined up just needing to go up. Generally I will jack the front up a couple of inches so there's maybe 1-2" of clearance between the subframe and the body, then i'll just jack the diff up into place or at least far enough to get the mounts threaded. I then go back and tighten the front all the way up, push the subframe back into place and bolt it back in, and then i finish tightening up the rear diff mounts. I've managed to do it all by myself a couple of times with just one jack, but it wasn't exactly pretty. I pretty much followed the same order except i had my single jack under the diff (just to allow me to bolt on the front), then i picked it off, pushed it up as far as I possibly could, held it there with one arm and quickly threaded the other side in. It's definitely easier with two!
