Help With Bridgeporting (Rx7 Fc)
Help With Bridgeporting (Rx7 Fc)
I own a 1988 Rx7fc3c Turbo 2 model. Recently the apex seals popped and im doing a full rebuild, but id also like to bridgeport it, I heard that to bridgeport it i need to upgrade springs and such, could i get a full list of the things i should upgrade in the engine before I bridgeport it, I have little to no knowledge about bridgeporting and i'd also like to know if it'd be better to halfport it or full bridgeport, and the list of things i would need to upgrade to make my bridgeport somewhat reliable. Thank you rotary gurus

obviously this is IMHO, but
Stuff you need:
basically you build the block to Competition or FD specs, they are basically the same.
as far as part go, you want to bump the oil pressure with the FD regulator, its cheap N3A1-14-230
people like to upgrade to the FD style corner seal springs, NF01-11-C24
i would run the S5 or FD tension bolts, should be almost free
if it was mine i would do something like the Super Now! oil pan baffle plate, its 10mm thick, so it adds some rigidity to the engine, the factory way. you do also need the shorter engine mounts 36mm tall instead of 46mm tall
you're going to need bigger injectors, the JDM tuners would run 4x1000 injectors, but there are tons of choices nowadays. you will need a bigger fuel pump, again tons of choices, 340lph would be nice. i'd be tempted to bump the fuel pressure a little too, so you'd need a regulator (stock is ~36psi, and most cars are 43ish)
you will need an ECU you can tune.
you will want:
a big turbo, stock turbo is nice for a stock engine, but its way too small for a BP. you'll need a bigger exhaust too, 75mm would be kind of a minimum, 90mm would be better
i kind of like the 8.5:1 rotors for this, a turbo bridge port is potentially a big power setup, and big power wants lower compression rotors.
light flywheel would be nice, and you're going to need a clutch to hold the power.
you need a big intercooler
