HELP. brakes...

i have a 87 gxl.when i step on the brake pedal it seems like it goes straight to the floor.feels like there is no pressure in it.anyone know what this could be or can help me out of what to do?

check your fluid level and if that looks good you probably have a ton of air in your lines. could also be time for brake pads as well

Sounds like you either have a leak and there's no fluid in the master cylinder or or the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

i know its not the brake pads cuz they are fairly new..

Check the brake lines at the caliper for any leaks. Check the reservoir for fluid. If there are no leaks and you've got a full reservoir, rebuild or replace the master.

Bleed your brake lines. That is outlined in the factory service manual, or the Haynes manual. Buy the Haynes manual.

If that doesn't work, you need a new brake master cylinder.

okay hold on really quick...

When you hit the brake does it hold press. then go to the floor or just go straigt tot he floor?

Check for leaks around the calipers...

check for leaks on slave

check for leaks around the slave

check the brake booster it might be going

check the one way check valve... check the hose line...

lets get down and dirty and let us know what happens
