Help!! brake fluid leak!

Ive got a slow brake fluid leak from the bottom of the resivoir, it appears to be coming from around the rubber washers. It has dripped down my frame, stripping it down to the bare metal, it even removed the tar stuff from the bottom of the chassis! Does anyone know how to remove and fix the resivoir?

Not if it's just the bushings where the reservoir meet the cylinder. Go to your local Mazda dealer and ask for part #0305-49-686B. That should work, as it's the number on the envelope right in front of me that my bushings came in. If you're lucky, they'll have them in stock like my dealer did.

I never got to use mine, as the master cylinder went bad and I needed a new one anyway.

I've done it before.

You are correct, there are no screws holding the reservoir down. Use a screwdriver to very carefully pry it straight up and up. Then use the same screwdriver to pry the rubber bushings out. Put in the new bushings (someone else gave the part number, they cost like $10) and then push the reservoir back into them.

I used 3" u-bolts to crank the reservoir back on, that way I knew I was pushing straight down.

In my case it turned out that these bushing weren't actually the problem and that brake fluid was actually leaking out the end of the master cylinder.

Still have to repaint all the places it removed my paint
