well. 2 pins from old airflow meter are just for security. i mean they control fuel pump. when airflow meter shows 0 it means that pump wont work. there are pins 6 & 7. but if i just connect them togeter if would only mean that pump will work. that's all. so. we have 5 pins on new airflow meter and 7-2=5 pins on old.
5 on both airfow meters are:
temperature of air (2 pins)
ground (2 pins. actually i dont know on new, but on old there are 2 pins connected together)
and 1 pin for amount of air

You could find out with a DMM by measuring resistances when you move the plunger; armed with the two FSMs, you should be good to go (in fact, the two diagrams you'll need are here). FYI, I believe the S4 and S5 AFMs have different readouts for the same airflow, so you might need to adjust for that.

Sorry, I assumed that since you found one RX-7 AFM you'd be able to find another.

Try the For Sale section of the forum, or look on Ebay. Hopefully you'll be abe to sort out international payment.

On your series four afm plug, the B and Br wires will not be used. They should be the two wires to the far right when looking into the wire end of the s4 afm plug. What you will do with them, is splice them together so the fuel pump will run once the engine starts. Unfortunaltly the pump will now run anytime the key is to ON or better.

So. When looking into your series five JACK on the S5 AFM, the first pin to the far left will be connected to the Green/Orange wire of the series four AFM.

The second pin on the S5 Jack will be connected to one of the series four plugs Brown/Black wires.

The third pin from the left will go to the other Brown/Black wire in the series four plug.

The fourth wire from the left will get the Brown/White wire from the series four harness.

The fifth and last wire from the left of the AFM jack will get the Green/Blue wire of the series four afm.
