Unhappy Help!....Both dash lights and parking lights stopped working!!

I need you guys help. I have a 86 Rx-7 and the dash and parking lights stopped working. I've checked all of the fuses, but I'm stomped now!! They have to be related, because I saw them flicker a few night ago and now they're dead!!

If you know how to fix this please post it!

Thanks.

The CPU might need to be resoldered. Do a search for "CPU cold solder". Good luck!!

And pull the headlight switch itself (best to take it to an electronics shop for this.) The contacts inside (which are a big PITA to get at) wear down after 16 years.

Ditto on checking the CPU. It controls most/all non-engine electronics.

The headlight switch? My headlights work. It's the rear lights and the dash light. Does the headlight switch control the dash and the rear parking light?

Thanks...

This just recently happened to me. What ended up happening on my 87 was a (-) wire going into the headlight switch got hot, melted and then burned my headlight switch out. I (having experiance) took the headlight switch apart and rebuilt it for about $25. Then to replace the wire I went to a local import salvage yard and got the harness. The harness is very easy to change too. It's about 1'6" goes from the headlight switch to next to the fuse box. Inside of the switch the parking lights and the int. lights both run off of the same wire comming into the switch unit. So they both could go at the same time. They also sell headlight switchs on ebay for like $20 i think.

on the left side of the instrument cluster, you have to take it off, I had the same problem and just resoldered the white and black wire that was grounding out, that fixed my prob
