Help! Beeping Wont Stop!!!!

its probably the most annoying thing in the world (besides the shift up alarm or the low coolant etc alarm). "Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep", 5 beeps and a pause between the sets of beeps.
It starts about 5 minutes into driving the car, stops after a WHILE, comes back.
The car has various little electrical problems, as I did just get it back from the garage after sitting for a year and a half.
One thing I can think may be the problem is the key ignition. I removed the ignition (i had to bust it out a while ago because of the steering wheel lock when i had to tow/move my car to storage.. i lost the key .)
So I still have the part of the ignition where all the electrical action happens hangin there, i just removed the lock part. i just turn the little thing with a key or a screwdriver to start up. but in that bundle of wires (for ignition) there are two wires, a green one and a red one w/ yellow stripe. they were soldered somewhere to the ignition i believe but im not sure and they dont remember (the garage removed the ignition)... what are these wires and could they be causing the beeping?
there are no warning lights lit up in the console.
also the aftermarket radio i had in there has been removed, i wouldnt think this is the problem with the beeping but i figured id mention it in case it is.
im going to recheck all the fuses.
theres also problems with my dome lights, they dont work and when i turn them on the clock and door warning light in my console go on and off with them. probably not associated with the beeping but i figured id mention it.
a new clutch and radiator were installed in my car at the garage before the beeping.. so maybe some service alarm may have to be reset?
plz someone have an opinion on this because its driving me insane! thank you.

I am pretty sure those beeps are error codes coming from the power steering computer.

That's the steering wheel being mis-aligned. 100% sure, final answer.

Re-align the steering wheel. You have the adapter on wrong.

Why would you further break the car??? Fix the car. And you can't disconnect the speaker without disconnecting the power steering system. Even removing the speaker from the circuit board will cause the power steering computer to go into fail mode.

And the beeping is is covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this section. Please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread before posting as many commonly asked questions (such as the one you started this thread with) are covered there.

i found out what the two wires were for, they were actually the juice for the little light right over your key on the ignition area.

how do i re-align the wheel? how do i have the adapter on wrong?

on the back of the stock steering wheel there are two holes that line up with the two plastic tabs that stick up from the steering wheel postion sensor.

Chances are when you put the steering wheel adapter on, you didn't line it up with those two plastic tabs. With any luck you didn't break the tabs off when you put the adapter on. So to fix it, you would remove the adapter, and put it back on so that the two plastic tabs are not being bent down and damaged and instead line up with the holes in the back of the adapter.

Now if the adapter does not have the two holes, then you have the wrong adapter for the car (and Mazda's in general).

Did you find the beeping problem? Does your speedometer work because a broke or disconnected speedometer cable will cause a beep as well.

From the FAQ for FC sticky thread... found at the top of this section:
I keep hearing a beep beep beep
Probably the power steering computer telling you there is a problem with the system. The number of beeps before pausing will indicate the problem.

1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.
if the speedo is disconnected you get one beep as there would be no speed sensor input.

yeah, one beep- pause, one beep, pause...etc

Clearly outlined in the quote.

was I not clear???

That would be considerably different than 5 beeps- pause, 5 beeps- pause which would be the steering position sensor.

You were clear Icemark, but there was no pause. I didn't count the beeps and wait for a pause.

went crazy over one beep? try five!
thank you very much for the help. i couldnt fix it without y'all.
i think it may have gotten knocked around somehow when my garage drilled off my ignition. the steering wheel was not removed or replaced or anything, its still stock. so this should be an easy fix.
