I have a 1988 SE N/A. The stock speakers are in the back and under the dash. I want to move them from the dash to the door. The problem is i dont know where to mount them at on the door. Ive heard you could. I took the door panel off and i didnt see anything that would have enough room for 6 1/2" speakers (someone said they would fit those). Can someone that has done this before show me where i can put the speakers at on the door? I didnt see mounting spots which they said the car came stock with those.

 

depending on what month your 88 was built, it will either have a hole above the arm rest or in the front bottom of the door. The front bottom of the door takes any 160mm speaker, while the location above the arm rest will require a plate.

On some 88 models they used a S5 door. On those the speaker hole is at the front bottom of the door.
