What's wrong?

Plesase email me back at ricc@shaw.ca if u can help.

You could try some wd-40 to loosen up the connections some.
You may also want to try to see if can open it by hand.

Also, if you reach up under the bumper where the light is, you should find a rubber cover that you can pull down and off.... under that is a **** conected to the headlight motor. You should be able to turn that to make the motor turn and the light go up and down.

I just replaced my motor with one from a parts car because it was grinding and only partly opening.

Oh yeah, and somewhat important, pull the retractor fuse or the negative battery cable before you try turning it, or the motor will fight you. Might be a "duh" thing but you never know..

Yes, unplug the battery to be safe before your hand gets stuck (you won't be able to get to the switch then).

Judging by your symptoms, the arm to the motor must have popped off its balljoint.

True, if you can just pull the light up and down with no effort, look for the arm dangling in there.
