help with 86 sport
ok so i did the s5 swap in there and the cars been sitting for a while and so finnaly after all the work ive put into it i thought it was ready to go, so it started up but wouldnt idle on 3 different occasions, so i figured it was from bad gas since it sat sooo long... so i went and i drained all the gas filled up the coolant and charged the batt....it just cranked and cranked didnt even act like it wanted to start...i had no problems starting it on the bad gas before...i primed the fuel pump and all that it just didnt want to start so i took out the plugs and they had what looked like a bit of coolant on them...do u think that maybe because it sat for so long the coolant seals went bad or what? any suggestions would be nice...its been sooo long since ive driven the 7.. please help

just pull out a sparkplug on each rotor and (pull the EGI fuse too) have someone crank the engine. Listen to the noise coming from the plug holes. If all of them have an even tone, then your compression is fine. If it sounds like the tones are different, then you need to get a compression guage and see how bad it is.
You can use a regular compression guage but you have to hold in the pressure release valve while your doing the test. When you crank the engine over, the compression gause will just bounce. You looking for 3 even bounces at around 90+psi per rotor. Let us know what you get.
