help!!!!

after weeks of trying to get my 86 rx7 to start i finally got it started, but their is three questions that i still have (1)during the weeks of cranking my engine the starter went out, so i had my friend push me with his car to get my 7 started, when i put my starter in will it start like it is suppose to or will i have to push it all the time.(2) my oil pressure is very low , it never goes above 30 on the guageand there is plenty of oil in there, dont see any leaks(3) When i rev the engine from outside the car i hear a pinging sound coming from the passenger side, sounds like its coming from inside the exhaust manifold or the passenger side of the engine.

by the way i have done all the things like the atf trick, help!

thanx for all you guys help

If u put a new starter in you won't need to push start your car... check your oil pressure sensor... and i really have no idea about the pinging.

the only reason that i had to push start it was because it would not start by cranking it(the car had been sittin for a while and would not start even after the atf and new plugs)

1) New starter -> you dont have to push-start the car
2) Oil pressure: if there is enough oil (i.e dipstick to the max), then check the pump (take off -very fast - an oil line to see if oil circulates. The pressure rises only when you are on the pedal, not at idle
3) Pinging sound ? no clue whatsoever. Maybe something got unscrewed ? Or loose ?

AIM is Aol Instant Messenger. MSM is Microsoft messenger. Sometimes its easier to chat in order to help you with your problem.
