Unhappy Hello need a bit of advise

Hello Rx7 maniacs,

I hope your cars are all running fine. Just needed to replace my driveshaft and I hope now the car is ready for some modifications to enhance my little darling because summer is coming...

Does anyone know where to best get a map of how to install after market mufflers and does it need to be the whole cat back which needs change or can I use the old cat and get some nice mufflers to increase the speed an the sound?

And does anyone can give me an ideas of how to repair my horn. It works from the alarm part but not from the steering wheel might be a fuse, or something else? The owner before me changed a lot of things with out knowing what he was doing so hopefully it is a simple problem?

I appreciate your help
thanks, please make me ready for the summer....my convertible really needs to ride

The horn is fed by the 20 amp "stop" fuse, located in one of the top two rows of fuses in the cabin fuse box. If the alarm activates the horn OK, it's probably the steering wheel switch you need to look at, because the rest of the circuit (relay, power, and both horns) was proven good by the alarm working...

As for the exhaust, you're the only one who can tell us whether you ened to replace your cat or not.. A cat-back exhaust will give you some improvements (both in sound and HP), but not as much as a high-flow (or none at all) cat with a full exhaust package. Headers will also make a large difference, although it will definatly increase the volume of the exhaust (I don't have headers, this is just what I understand).

mmmmmhhh so ....

okay so if I* for example just buy some aftermarket mufflers and leave the old y pipe and all this other stuff on the car. It will do the job of having a little increase in HP and a nicer sound???

Or do I need to exchange everything in order to have a nice sound and abit of HP more?? Lika putting a whole cat back system on, which definetly is damn expensive.

Basically what I want is a nicer sound and about the HP well...would be nice but California is strict on their speed limit.

thanks answer appreciated

Changing just the mufflers to nice aftermarket ones will pretty much only change the exhaust sound. I'd check the classifides here for good deals, I got my Borla catback for $200.
