I bought my 88 vert a little over a month ago and now that its starting to get cooler where I live I was wondering how to reconnect all the hoses and other components required to make the heater work. Sorry I am kind of a n00b when it comes to cars.

Any help would be good. I checked the FSM but didnt find anything maybe I overlooked it.

 

why was it disconnected in the first place?

 

Need to be more specific as to what is not there.
There are only two hoses in the engine bay, one is below the oil filter pedestal, the other runs down the passenger side framerail and connects to the lower port on the radiator.

 

As far as I know its just the hoses

It was probably disconnected because the heater core is leaking. Nobody I don't think in your part of the USA would disconnect their heating on purpose.

 

The guy I bought the car from took out anything he deemed unnecessary or that it made it harder to work on. The heater hoses would fall under both of these categories.

Also, the only way I will find out if the core leaks is to connect the hoses is it not?

And really the heater isn't necessary because the coldest it gets around here is the high 50s but it would be nice when travelling to work at 3AM every morning.

 

Actually I just need to know which holes to plug the hoses into on the firewall
