oh no . sounds like you may have broken the heater core inlet when you pulled the hose off. I think those are very fragile. changing the heater core is a MAJOR job. not fun.

for the time being, (unless you can prove it's comming from somewhere else) I'd just loop the 2 heater hoses together to stop it from leaking. but you won't have any heat.

Ive heard that if you tug too hard on the hoses going through the fire wall (heater hoses) then the heater core may actually break. it would be best and MUCH easier to use a knife or boxcutter and cut the hose off. Also a little WD40 will loosen the old ruba.

Also those heater core inlet and outlets are made of brass. If you wrench on that old hose to much with a pipe wrench you will bend them and make them out of round.

I did that to the one on the passenger side. The resulting leak endedup inside the car on the passernger floor board. I though my heater core was done for.

But I found the real leak. I bent that damn thing. Ended up taking RTV and smearing it on the heater brass part and slipping the hose on.

Leak is gone and all is well.

Its a bitch... well, sort of.

Like anything else, its not very hard, just time consuming. And you do have to take the dash out, and anytime you mess with the dash, you run the chance of breaking connectors and having a loose dashboard.

its hot out, you don't need a heater... just bridge the heater inlet and oulet at the engine, and if you want to, wait until this fall, when you aren't going to die from heat stroke outside, to replace the heater core...

I replaced my heater core without removing the dash components. Its a pain in the ***, but if you have someone help you its o.k. I laid on my back for hours under the drivers side console and eventually got it out with out breaking anything. It turned out it was the valve that needed replacing (leaked like hell). I suggest not removing the dashboard but whatevers easiest for you.
