Heat wrap a RB true dual to the presilencer?

Should I heat wrap my RB true dual setup to right after the flange on the presilencer, or would it have negative effects or be a waste?

I thermal painted my streetable header, then thermal wrapped it, then thermal painted them both together. I haven't had any problems. I also don't have an EGT gauge, so I can't tell you if there is a difference in temps.

well it certainly won't hurt anything...keep in mind that wrapping the welds will fatigue them due to the heat being held in the steel as oppose to venting off normally.

However I don't see it having as much benefit on an N/A as a turbo car since the amount of heat being radiated from a header is less then the amount radiated off a manifold, exhaust housing/turbine and downpipe together......

But it will no doubt reduce the underhood temperatures........even though its only by a very marginal degree

As far as I know, heat wrapping will NEVER have a negative effect.

And for the question, you should heat wrap the whole header. Or until you think it will not touch the engine bay anymore..which I think is the whole header. (I'm wrapping my whole uncollected.)

OH! This is an edit, as I just read the guy who posted before me - As RETed has said before, heat wrap on welds makes them FAIL MORE QUICKLY!
