Headliner issue.
So as I work my way through my S5 project car I find more and more little secrets. I have a gap between my A to B pillar trim and the headliner. Finally figured it out today and I知 pretty sure this car originally had automatic seatbelts and someone converted it to normal shoulder belts. So my assumption is the auto belts were wider and mated up with the headliner. I知 sure this isn稚 the first car to have this operation performed so does anyone know the fix? I知 sure sourcing auto belts would fix it but no thanks. Is there an answer other than a new headliner?

If you have a US spec S5 with manual belts then yes, someone retrofitted it.
You have two options:
-find a Canadian S5 headliner...they had manual belts and a liner to match
-find a set of original spec mousetrack belt tracks, remove everything but the mounting frame and put your pillar trim on that
Since you didn't mention it...how is your pillar trim held on now?

There is skinnier trim from a manual belt car that is holding the pillar trim but it doesn’t hold the headliner. Looks like the a and b pillars plastic were both replaced.
