what is the difference in the headliner if you have a sunroof (touring) vs not having one (R1).
could i hypothetically buy an R1 headliner and just cut the hole for the sunroof and be done with it?
or is there a different amount of clearance from the headliner to the actual roof?

I'll start off by saying I can't remeber the last time I was in an 7 w/o a sunroof, so I don't remeber exactly what it looks like, but if you notice behind the sunroof, there is a plastic clip that evidently goes to part of the gearing mechanism for the roof. I believe there is a bit of bubble in that same area to accomodate the extra space needed. I'd be willing to bet that the sunroofless headliners wouldn't have any of that.
