Headlights nightmare

Im doing a project car Rx7 88 and it was on my backyard for a couple of years I put a battery in it to see if everything was working fine and all was alright... I took apart all the wiring to paint the engine bay and also the dash to paint it and put everything back the right way (i guess lol) and now the headlights wont work but everything else does and if I use the signal lights switch the headlight turn on and the relay screams like a Btch I tried changing it but no use and tried other switch and not good ether did i miss a ground or something?

You likely messed w/the ground behind the gauge cluster that is up against the firewall. That grounding point, known as JC-02, is the grounding point for many circuits including the ones you are having difficulties with.

Oh ya..I remember a Wire like that.
it is a bolt through wire connection on top of the Steering area ,that is covered by the whole dash.
what a pain to run those wires!

Guys, this sounds more like plugs mixed up.

OP, you're saying your turn signal switch is turning on the headlights? Did you maybe switch the two plugs? (not sure if possible but they are near each other)

Any fuses blowing?

The FSM Electrical section (both body electrical and wiring diagram chapters) has more info on what wires go to which portion. (See my sig for links)

K. Did you plug in stuff behind the shifter area where the security light, AAS (auto suspension) and mirror switch are? Because some of those plugs will plug in together, but are NOT supposed to plug into each other. Pretty common mistake.
