headlight will not go down on 90 GXL

headlight will not go down on 90 GXL

yes, I know there is an extra **** that opens and closes the headlights...thats not it . I have tried 3 headlight switches and all the same results.

the motors work because when I try to lower manually, they pop back up. disconect battery and lower them and they pop back up also.

what else to check? never had this problem before

remove the headlight retractor fuse then lower them manually... it should stop them from popping back up

then what? if I put the fuse back is it going to stay down?

prob not, i have a problem every once in a while with one of mine, i think it just binds on something, lube it up in a joints, if the hood paint chipped right next to them then it is rubbing there, does it make a crack sound? if not it might just be a short in the wiring, rewire from right around the switch straight to the lamp. this should work

not in a bind anywhere so it must be a problem in the wires somewhere.
