headlight visibility...

ok since my pop up lights dont work and they stay up 24/7 ive decided to keep them down and cut the top piece between the FRP and the headlight cover to make more space for light to shine through while they stay closed...

question is....will they look something similiar to this?

also, how is the visibility when the lights r like this? anyone have a similiar setup?

OK, so you're going to hack up a perfectly good nose because of a malfunctioning headlight?
Makes no sense...fix the damn lights.

well one of them doesnt want to go up and down... the opposite side in the pic actually as a dent in the pic from the previous owner. after that side got hit, the light stopped functioning... so its prob the headlight motor or the alignment is fucked up...

Well your going to have to do some fiberglass work or something along that line to make it look like one of those aftermarket kits. Just leave them up or fix them.

Aw hell, here we go. First of all you've opened Pandora's box of flames and insults with this question. If you can't tell already. Anyhow, moving on to your question: the factory bumper when cut will not have the flat bottom and sides that lead up to the headlight like those kit bumpers do. It will simply be a gap on a obviously hacked bumper. If you have the cash just buy one of those bumpers. If you have the skill you could make yourself some flush mounts. OR you could just fix the lights. Decisions, decisions eh?

I disagree.
There's a world of difference between saying, "I've always loved the refined lines of the 1953 Nash Ambassador and am planning on modifying my car to capture its essence" and "My pop up lights don't work so I'm going to carve holes in the nose and hope a few feeble beams escape".

Towards the first one might feel pity mixed with admiration for the ambition and drive but the second can only elicit despair as the obvious solution- "Fix the damn lights"- is ignored.

I suppose the most salient question might be, "If the lights were functioning properly, would the OP still be considering this mod?"
