Have white stuff in oil since i have no pcv valve ? need catch can ?

----------------

Have another problem and im going to have to put a oil catch can on my car because i removed the emissions system rack and since there is no pcv valve my car is getting this white crap in the oil in the pickup tube and dipstick (who knows where else).

I was told by dDub114 that this was a result of not having the pcv valve. So it lets the oil vapor stay in the engine and has no way to get out so makes this white stuff in the oil from the condensation building up from the oil vapor having nowhere to go.

He said i need a catch can to fix this problem and will release the oil vapor into the the can and it will stay there , do this by blocking one vac line on the oil pickup or the one on the block nex to it, then use the line that stays and connect it to one of the fittings on the catch can, then have the other going to a vacuum source on the intake.

I did try doing something like this myself but i used a little fuel filter they sell in advanced auto , one of those little ones that are about 3" long and are like 3 dollars, but this didnt seem to do anything even when hooked up the same way id hook up the catch can.

So how does the catch can fix the problem , is it 100% fix ?

I'd like some info on this too, my car gets that crap in the oil since I removed the rats nest. So anyone in the know, do post about this subject and rescue this thread.

I put on a generic oil catch can. One line connected to the nipple on the oil filler neck, the nipple on the block below the neck I plugged, and I connected the other line on the can to a vac source. No more condensation in oil, took about 2 or 3 drives to get it cleaned out and bone dry.

Here are some pics on my old engine setup, when I had the 2nd line on the catch can connected to the MOP vac source on the dynamic chamber. Can mounted on the driver side strut tower.

Yah I got the idea from someone that made their own actually, but I got lazy and bought a cheap one, then changed the fittings for the vac lines, and then got new black vac lines (came with clear)
