Have I screwed up?

JUst got an 88' RX& COnvertible about 3 weeks ago. This is my first manual transmission car, but I think I have learnt to drive it fairly well. I dont think ive been all that hard on it at all, Its in amazing condition with only 95,000 kms ( which I think is pretty good for the year of the car).
Driving in to work today I noticed that occasionally when shifting from 3rd to 4th the engine will rev up a bit and then settle back down, It appears to do it almost every time I shift into 5th from 4th. Am I just getting lazy on my shifting or have I fucked up my clutch already.
Can anyone help me out on this?

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.
When your cruising in 5th, press the gas down and see if it does it under load.
Either its worn out or the plate on the transmission is leaking fluid on the clutch.

Sounds as if the clutch is slipping. It could either be a worn disc, which I would replace asap before it marks the flywheel, or a weak pressure plate which is allowing the disc to slip. Check freeplay on clutch pedal. Make sure there is freeplay when pressing down on pedal. If no freeplay, possible hydraulic problem, which would result in same condition.

You worded that kinda funny and to me it sounded like you are saying that the engine is reving it's self. Is that what you ment??? But if you mean that it reavs after you put it in gear, and you have pushed the gas, then I go with the bad clutch, or bad pressure plate.
