Question Has anyones car ever made a whistling sound in the area of the belts?

Since yesterday my car has been making this terrible whistling sound, more like air seeping out of somewhere. I dont think its my belts, because I only have an air pump belt on right now. (My alternator is out for a couple days.) I cant pinpoint an area at all really, just sounds like its comin from the belts or the air pump. Ive checked numorous amounts of hoses without any luck of finding one thats off. This whistling sound dosent increase when I give it gas though. But its definetely noticeable, and worries me.

My cars been doing that too... probably because the hose between the acv and air pump is held together by electrical tape though... hehehe Are you sure its whistling and not belts sqealing? Double check those hoses

Take the air pump belt off, adn start it up. If it still whistles, it means it isnt a belt or pulley. That would narrow it pretty much down to a vacuum leak or something in the intake, where air is passing through.
