I've seen a couple of posts from him on the RX7 club on facebook but nothing on here. He's a good guy though. You'll get your motor back don't worry.

You say "you'll get your motor back don't worry" like it's YOUR motor he's got. This thread was started back in the beginning of SEPTEMBER of last year. He's had the dudes motor for AT LEAST 5 months with no contact...and you say "don't worry."

Good guy or not, he could at least pic up the phone and talk to the owner of the motor to let him know whats going on.

Could it be that the owner info for the engine got lost or misplaced in a move?

Maybe ZERO_YON or someone else can pass on a phone number or contact info so OP can call him up?

Unless of course all contact info is the same and he's just not answering, which wouldn't look good.

I've Bought and got advice from him and seems like a great guy but it has been since 6 18 2014 that I have heard anything ! I hope it is something reasonable but the lack of contact is not right already paid him and expected the bill to be a little more then what he charged so that's no biggie just would like the engine before tires get weather rot ! I even was going to drive it down there to have him tune it !

That is super sad. I heard only good things, but I hope he didn't get in over his head.

But a trip to Florida sounds like he is doing well enough to take a vacation.

really doesn't seem like him, he was a good business person and would always keep good communication with his customers

I really wonder what happened, I always heard he did excellent work

Might be worth it to check obituary's if you know his full name. This kind of disappearance from someone who was in high standings with the community seems odd.

Nothing in the obituaries and his phone is still active as mentioned here sounds as if he is moving to Florida and as I keep mentioning he always has treated me well and seemed a stand up guy just hard to believe no one here can get in contact !

I don't want to think I got ripped off as Ben can still satisfy me but it is looking bad I know he is one of the best and that's why I chose him

regardless of what is going on in his life, hopefully not a tragedy- but it takes less than a minute to shoot off a text, email, or PM

sorry bro sounds like you are **** out of luck
And anyone who wants to make excuses for him should be willing to personally reimburse this guy or go get his engine

I concur.

Rob and I (I believe) are both business owners. It doesn't take long at all to make the situation right or let a customer know what's going on.

This isn't over a $300 part (the most I've been ripped here on a forum, also by another very "popular" member, another guy was also ripped off at the time too, but they had enough people defend him that both the person and I where left with our dicks in our hands).

This is over a multi-thousand dollar engine and possibly, very good parts like rotors or housings (worth more outside of the rebuild also).

Apart of business is accountability. It's not like he didn't pay his rent or himself with the money either.

maybe he is embarrassed at what it has come to, but hslive seems reasonable he even sounds like he is willing to pay him for more work.

if you are reading this just get on the phone and clear this up.

I would love to have my engine back and still believe in this man's ability !
Just seems I may have to commission Mazdatrix and get a lawyer to help recover the cost ! I hate to do something like that to someone in the community!

Agreed. Sounds like a lot of people on the board knew this guy but if he just up and bails on you and takes your engine with him I would do it. I mean maybe it will help get a hold of him and he can return the engine but yeah at this point he should have given it back to you.
