i believe the consensus is that those types of products aren't good for rotary engines. no heads no sticky valves

look at an opened rotary some time there's only these tiny pieces of plastic/rubber feet on the rotor as it spins around that would need to be cleaned and whether theyd be cleaned or eaten away i wouldnt know i dunno whats in the oil additives

i did however use one on my car when i first bought it when i changed the oil, so if the feet on your rotor are fine it shouldnt hurt anything

but yeh i wouldnt have a clue if it actually helped anything either

I used engine flush (dont remember what type black bottle from Advanced) the first time through (my car had sat for an unknown amount of time). Personally I don't think it helped, usually when I use it on a piston motor it comes out a little gunky but the RX came out pretty fluid so I doubt it actually cleaned anything.

I use STP Engine Flush every second or third oil change. When the old oil is drained it is noticeably thinner that when the flush isn't used, and drains for longer, meaning more of the old oil is being removed. Whether or not it’s also removing guck and deposits I can't really tell, but IMO getting more of the old oil out is a Good Thing.

I have absolutely no reason it's doing any damage to any part of my engine, particularly since it's had at least a dozen cans of the stuff through it since I bought the car and its still going fine (for its age). Those who claim that engine flush is "no good for rotaries" should at least offer some plausible technical explanation...

yeh i tend to find there are a lot of redneck idiots into the mechanic thing heh

ive seen the feet on the rotors they're hardy little buggers and i can't think of anything else that would be problematic but i havent exactly torn down and rebuilt a block or anything before

now if i could only verify the same 'wives tale' thing for replacing transmission fluid filter...
