so latly my car has been real hard to start and seems like its flooding. i can push start it fine. i hold the gas wide open and it will try to pop and hit a lick but if i dont have the gas pushed in then it just cranks.

I was having trouble with my car starting recently, flooding occasionally or taking it's sweet time to start. Then it started to crank real slow. It was the starter going bad. Put a rebuilt starter on, beast fires up right away without flooding. Apparently the 123,000 mile original starter just wasn't cranking it quite fast enough to start it properly.

Maybe your having the same trouble?

Interesting, i never thought of it, but it makes sense.... a worn starter = poor cranking = possible flooding Although it's not like the injectors are staying open any longer.... IMO if you can crank it over (without hesitation) then it should start fine without any other issues. Sorry i'm not of any help... all i can say is that you could possibly have a flooding problem which we all know aren't very common for our cars right? wrongggggggggggggggg

yeah my starter is 120,940 miles on it so maybe but i dont think its that though because my car had a hot start issue. but why would it wanna start more when throttle is held wide open vs. closed..
