hard to start and wont rev over 4k

well guys here is what goin on. yesterday i got a nitrous backfire and poped my intake tube off and a coupple of my vac lines. well the car flodded when i was trying to start it.

finaly got it started tho after a new set of plugs but the car wouldnt rev over 4k. after letting it sit for the night i took the plugs out and they were all wet like it was still flodded. got another set of plugs.

anyways the car starts if i turn the car over at WOT and then put the key into the ON position but just sounds like its flodding again if i put it into start. (i have a start button that isnt connected to my key) and if i try to start it like i normaly do with the key in start and then hitting my starter button it just floods. the only way to make it start is to crank it at WOT and then turn the key to ON

now the car still wont idle but if a keep my foot on the gas i can make it run. if i rev it up under 1/4 throttle it will go to redline but if i go over 1/4 it will instintly drop to 4k and missfire and spuder and not rev any more. this is very agervating and if any one has any ideas on whats going on let me know.

btw did a compressing test and got 90PSI total on both rotors and 3 good pulses off both.

personally, i would check all vac lines and go from there. after that i would look at the fuel injectors/grommets. check your afm too.

Sounds like a Vaccume leak to me. A nitrous backfire could have cracked or melted a hole in your intake pipe or one of the big vaccume lines (like the one to the BAC valve). Check all the lines and replace as necessary.

humm ok ill check all the vac lines again to see if one is broken. but why would a vac leak keep my car from reving up past 4k? i did have the secondary fuel rail off could it be possable that i disturbed one of the rubber seats or something and now the injector is leaking? just a thought but i am gonna check the vac lines again
also how would i check the AFM

Check the big seals that go on the bottom of the injectors, if one of thoes popped off while you were working it would cause the kind of problem you are speaking of. If you can, you might as well replace all of the rubber seals around the injectors anyway. They are probably the original ones that came on the car and they're probably pretty crispy.

ya i checked the seats on the secondary rail and found no problems. i even changed the seals and injectors for a set that came off a running car. no real change. changed the FPR and no change. every time i try to start it it just floods worse and now if i can manage to get it running it will not rev up hardly. i can get it to run but if it drops below 1000rpm it just dies and it wont go over 3k now and if i can hold it at 1500 it surges and runs very rough then dies.

I'm still gonna say it's a vaccume leak somewhere from what your discribing. I've had very similar problems in the past and they have always ended up being vaccume leaks.

I doubt this would happen but have you checked to make sure the backfire didn't dammage any of your wire harness?

I've always been able to find my vaccume leaks without too much trouble but I think some guys on here will use some kind of spray can which helps locate where the leak is. Search the FAQ and you can probably find what they use.
