hard to start sometimes??
ok sry about all the questions but when i go to start my car it doesnt start by itself i have to push the gas pedel about halfwas than it will start what could cause this id like to get it fixed.
clarification
Yes, old injectors can leak or have a spray pattern that is not great for atomization. Cleaning them should cost about $20/injector at a good shop, plus new intake seals. Other advantages are more power and better fuel economy.
Other causes of a hard to start situation could be old plugs, mis wired plugs, in- cold start - cycle.
Too much fuel, not enough spark will make the initial rich mixture harder to ignite. By putting the gas pedal down you are effectively increasing the airflow to the engine.
If you have an s5 (89-91) you can floor the gas pedal which will turn off the injectors, when you take your foot off the car should start.
Consistently needing a lot of throttle is a bad thing. Ideally you would rarely need it if you need it at all. My car experiences this issue sometimes.
