Sounds to me like it's lost all compression on one rotor, thus causing it to only run on one rotor.

You could also have one leading sparkplug fouled, not firing, causing one rotor to be dead, or one primary fuel injector not opening, causing it to be dead.

I have seen cars with bad water seals that would flood one rotor with coolant which would then wet the sparkplug and keep it from firing for a few seconds until the heat/airflow/fuel displaced the water on the plug and let it start firing normally, but this doesnt sound like what you're dealing with.

1) compression check

If that is good...

2) replace leading plugs (or all of them)

if it still doesnt run right...

3) check and/or replace fuel injectors and clips. Check for injector pulse with a noid lite.

Unless you are losing coolant with no external leaks, you do not have a coolant seal problem. IN the event that you did, it requires a full rebuild.

So from what I read online, it basically plugs inbetween the injector and the clip? Does it just test for signal, or does it actually check that the injector is pulsing?

It checks for signal from the wires. You can plug it directly into the plug on the harness. IF you solder on some test leads you can check the signal at the ecu, which is helpful in diagnosing a bad harness (signal at the ecu but not at the injector). It has nothing to do with the injector itself.
