Hard To Start!!! Help

When i try to start my car it just keeps turning over and wont actually start, and when it does i have to be pushing the gas pedal, what could be wrong, i have just finished a rebuild on the engine.

sounds like the car is flooding. If it's an 88.5+ car, that means that fully depressing the gas pedal will actually cut the fuel ot the engine and help you unflood the car. That may be what's going on.

make sure your water thermosensor it is the green connector on the pump neck, kind of below and to the left of the altenator. Make sure you test the sensor, make sure the contacts arent shoved back into the plug and none of the wiring is broken. Thats what fixed mine when it wouldnt start in the cold.

well i will definately try that, but it isnt just cold starting when it has problems, it is all the time. A guy told me it was just the fuel injectors adn they needed to be replaced, but im not totally sure if that is right, what do u think?

mine was doing the same... but it is worse in cold...
I ave to crank it over and pump the pedal for about 1-2 mins for the car to actually catch and when it did I had to hold the gas or it would stall....

" A guy told me it was just the fuel injectors adn they needed to be replaced, but im not totally sure if that is right, what do u think?"

ive had my injectors all cleaned out so i dont think its them.... but you never know, maybe they arent supposed to pump out that much fuel...

try buying some new plugs, your current ones might be fouled out.

This was happening to me. Either your AFM isnt plugged in, or one of the hoses on the back of your intake pipe fell off. If this happens, you will get un metered air and the car will die quickly unless u keep on the gas. It happened to me if thats not the problem i dont know what else it coudl be besides flooding or plugs.

Listen to rotary he's got the ticket, the thermosensor tells the ECU to tell the injectors how much fuel to dump, SO.........if it is unhooked or the connections are bad the car will always be dumping too much fuel thinking it is REALLY COLD..... Try it out i bet you forgot to plug it in after the rebuild, green plug on the rear of the coolant filler neck.
