Hard start/boggy throttle response low rpms/no idle cold
Hey everyone,
If you remember I had a no-start/weird-
start situation with my 89 Vert, and it turned out to be a crappy fuel pump with weak flow. Replaced it and it ran but then I noticed other issues. As I was diagnosing it, I replaced the MAF, and checked many things, but I remember now I fiddled with the screw on the throttle body to see if it helped my idle issue prior to the fuel pump being found the culprit.
Anyways, now she won't idle when cold, idles decently at warm temps, and has a weird throttle response when under 2k rpms. It just kind of hangs... And once you hit higher rpms then there doesn't seem to be an issue.
Also, it is very hard starting when cold, to the point where you can hold the key to start and it will start/die/start/die/start/die and then finally start in a huge cloud of smoke.
Yes I did have the compression checked and it was roughly 120~ for front and back. I have tried adjusting the screw when it won't stay running when cold and it just tries to idle at 200~ rpm. When it's warm though it will idle at 850-950.
Any ideas? TPS out of adjustment? I have never had any issues prior to the fuel pump issue and never had cold/hot start issues.
