What is it thats causing my handbrake light to come on here and there . I hit a corner it comes on , five minutes later it turns off.And yes my handbrake is down all the way. Anybody else had a similar problem like this.

Check your brake fluid in the master cylinder. If the fluid is low, the light will come on.

Really, the man spoke the truth.

the brake pressure switch and brake fluid level sensor are on the same circuit so if you have either:

hand brake on

or

not enough brake fluid in reservoir,

you'll get the warning light on

If you have enough, it's probably the wiring that went south.

Yeah...My car constantly leaks brake fluid ( itll take a month or two to leak it all out if Im driving the car every day...but if it site for 2 days, itll all go out. Any ideas abotu that one? ) and whenever it gets low, I can floor it and the light will come on because of the brake fluid shifting in the master cylinder. Same idea as when you hit a corner.

Im fairly certain that the warning light gets its signal from the float in the master cylinder resavoir. When the fluid reaches a certain low level, the light will kick on. As long as the float is above that point, the light will stay off. So..air in the system shouldnt have any effect on whether or not the warning light is on, as long as the float is above the full level. However air in the system will decrease braking performance, and make the pedal feel "spongey".
