half bridge + sc?
bud - I really don't think you should mess with a bridgeport. I think instead that you should look at a mildly ported 6 port and a custom intake manifold. I really think that you would like this a lot better. This will also require a standalone, but... well any serious mods will need it as well. And with mild ports, you'll still have pretty damn good low end.
edit: look at this thread for one example. There's a lot to be had in the stock ports.

Not sure how long it will take to fab up but I have a feeling it will not put down the numbers people think on stock ems and some 550 secondaries. But we will see.
And if you are going to spend that type on money on a setup why not have ems and a turbo? And at what boost limit will you go until you install a intercooler?

As for a bridgeport with a SC, it'll work and give out some nice numbers. but I've been told that bridgeporting eventually wears out (what wears out im not sure) and im sure with the added heat of the SC and power, this would be done alot quicker.

How hard is it to do a bridgeport? Anyone from this board do them in houston? I have decided to tackle rebuilding on my own, that way I have a good mechanical knowledge of my vehicle.

speed monkey: I work in Tomball. I am a real estate agent for ERA Whitaker Realty right behind Autozone. I live off of Stuebner and Louetta near Klein High School.
I've got a turbo motor pulled apart on the stand right now if you want to see some porting.

if you want to do a half bridge then you need to run through some of mazdaspeed7's stuff. He's done an n/a half bridge(but not finished completely yet...) and he can tell you how much he's sunk into it and what problems he's ran into and whatnot. I've been through the whole "well what about a bridge on the street?" idea and I don't really think its a good way to go. An n/a like kahrens will be plenty fun unless you've really been spoiled by torque over the years.

What the hell are you doing bringing to life a thread almost 8 months old? To begin, yes the camden unit sucks, and those of you who think the heat from a turbo is more than a supercharger, you're almost certainly wrong. The turbos are WAY more efficient at compressing and make less heat in the process. Couple them with a proper intercooler and it's pretty close, but the turbo is always more efficient.
With a whipple setup you can get decent power and gains, but that's going to run around $4-5k.
Go turbo.
