half bridge port and no tune ok?
AS the title states. Just needing a replacement engine and I found this on ebay. Seems like a good deal.

EVERYTHING would be stock besides the half bridge port. Would I need a tune cause for it or will I be ok just not having a management system and just the regular tii ecu?

the thing with a rotary (actually pistons too) is that you need to know WHAT they "rebuilt". actually since there isn't much that gets machined in a rotary, you need to know what they replaced, and what everything else looked like.
here is a good for instance, how big is the port?
on the plus side though, it does have new rotor housings, so if you get it for $1000, and you get two new rotor housings, and a new rear main seal, you're basically coming out even

we must be missing something though, why would you buy new housings, rebuild the engine and then sell it without it running for less than the comp price of the housings?

the non FD's don't have the paint. i grant you that its hard to tell, but if you look in the water pump housing port, the rotor housing is shiny, as are the exhaust sleeves, and all the threads for all the stuff that goes on the engine (em rack etc)

i believe Mr mazda out of texas mainly strips and sells 7 parts so this could just be a car he gutted and is selling stuff from. but without knowing the ins and outs even the seller can't guarantee that the builder didn't port into the oil seal tract and that is why the car was parted out.
the exhaust ports look a little too clean, clean to the point that fresh oil from the motor could have kept them clean.. even 1k on most engines i reinspect have a bit of carbon buildup in the exhaust with that cream coloration no matter how well you polish the sleeves.
