H4 Headlight Conversion

Would these lights work for the H4 headlight conversion. Trying to decide whether I should buy them off of eBay or not. Here's the link to the items:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

Here's the pictures of them:

The auction ends soon, and I would like to know so that I can just go ahead and buy them if they are in fact what I am looking for.

Thanks

Personally I wouldn't buy any of those cheap headlights off eBay. Stick with reputable brandnames like Hella and you can't go wrong.

I got the Ebay ones. I then ditched the highly illegal blue bulbs they sell wityh them and got some Sylvania ones.

They are a little brighter and whiter than stock but get rid of the nasty look of old and yellowed ones.

I have a pair of ebay housings and they are pretty good IMO for the $25 I spent. I picked up a set of sylvania silverstars and the improvement over stock is great.

DO NOT BUY THE HOUSINGS YOU POSTED A PICTURE OF!! The housings I bought have a shield over the bulb so they wont blind other drivers. The one pictured does not. Also make sure you adjust the headlights correctly.

Anyone care to post the model number, location, and price of the H4 Conversion Kit they bought?

Stores around here dont seem to carry it. And a search online has revealed it to cost over $100-$120 at most stores, and they dont even list the cars they fit!

My ebay housing

With sylvania silverstar bulbs. This picture kinda shows how much more white than yellow they are.

Ok, well I'm not going to spend $60-70 for the Hella lights, and if people are happy with the eBay lights, I'm going to get them. Just bought them, so hopefully I'll get them soon.

as like2eatricers said...

Those headlights don't have the proper surrounds (like his do) Don't get them, they're crappy.

I have the same ones like2eatricers does. Nice lights, good beam projection, nice quality, and they have the proper shield for the bulb. I've been quite happy with them myself-

when i got my conversion i debated for like 2 weeks on what to get... i was thinking ebay all the way.... after much negative comments from ebay H4 conversions i wanted something i could see in person.. and a lot of forum members suggessted i go to autozone and check em out... well the ones in Autozone are solid glass units... which are really good quality.. the company is called Pilot.. they make a bunch of other universal stuff too...

anyways.. i got these H4 Conversion units for 39.99 plus tax.. and i got a pair of Sylvania superstarts.. best ever... i ended up paying a lil over 80.00.. but worth every penny.. i can drive at night now and actually see.. the stock units suck so much ***.. not even bright at all.. the superstarts along with the glass units produce a lovely beam and clear and bright..

I bought some eBay specials a few years ago for $40, I believe. The housings are OK, but they do not have that little cap over the bulb. The bulb has some kind of cover on the actual glass of the bulb so the light does not shine straight out, but out the side and reflect off of the housings. I like mine, they work great and are a great improvement over stock. If I had to start over, I'd go with the Cibie housings, some good bulbs, and a rewiring relay kit.
I've spoken with Daniel Stern, http://www.danielsternlighting.com/, qutie a few times about lighting upgrades. He is very good about replying to emails and is extremely knowledgeable...he claims the European E-Code are suitable for driving in the US and Canada.

Better get the H4 wiring kit too. The bulbs are hotter in temperature and will burn up the factory wiring. I learned the hard way! Now that I have the wiring kit, the headlights are even brighter!

Wiring kit, H4 Conversion Kit.

I'd like to do this stuff, but I could seriously use some model numbers

When I checked Autozone, they had nothing like that. (Maybe they were just out at the time?) Just wondering if anyone could read the model number off the one they bought

About 1/2 way down on this page are the relay kits that Daniel Stern has available.

The above link I posted added a comma at the end of the address, if you click on the link, simply remove the comma at the end and it will work. Sorry, I didn't know that was going to mess it up.

Arrow

I bought some $40 one on ebay and they are great. They have glass lenses( no fogging up after a year) and the little sheild over the bulb. Nice and bright.
